About James
James completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at La Trobe University. His interest in physiotherapy began after discovering the Alexander Technique during an acting course, where he developed an appreciation for how movement, posture and body awareness can influence pain and performance.
His passion for treating spinal conditions grew during his placement in the Emergency Department at Northern Health, where he worked with many patients experiencing acute low back pain. It was there that he developed a strong appreciation for careful assessment, clinical reasoning and the importance of listening to each patient’s concerns.
James enjoys working with people experiencing low back pain, neck pain, headaches and running-related injuries, particularly ankle, calf and knee conditions. He is committed to helping people regain freedom of movement so they can return to work, sport and the activities that bring them joy.
Treatment Approach
James believes that successful treatment starts with understanding the individual behind the injury. He combines thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, education and personalised rehabilitation to help patients understand the cause of their pain and build lasting confidence in their movement.
His treatment may include manual therapy, joint mobilisation, exercise rehabilitation, movement retraining, strength-based rehabilitation, running injury management and practical strategies to reduce the risk of future flare-ups.
Outside the clinic, James enjoys skiing, reading, board games and strength training. He’s a long-time believer that staying active doesn’t require a gym and enjoys keeping fit with home-based strength training.
