Less guessing. More direction.
It eases. You get active.
Then it comes back.
Perhaps you have rested, stretched, changed shoes or tried treatment. Perhaps this is the first time you are looking for help with a problem that is not settling.
You do not need to work out the next treatment yourself. Tell us what hurts, what you have tried and what you want to get back to.
“I’ve already tried treatment.”
Bring that history with you. What helped? What did not? What happened when you returned to normal activity?
Those details help your clinician decide what to keep, what to change and whether shockwave has a useful role. The appointment is about your next step—not automatically repeating the last one.
What shockwave actually involves
Targeted treatment.
Connected to your recovery.
Shockwave therapy uses a handheld applicator to deliver acoustic pulses through the skin. It is a non-invasive treatment option for selected persistent tendon and heel-pain conditions.
Start with your problem
Your clinician assesses the painful area and relevant movement, then explains whether shockwave fits your symptoms and health history.
Know what is happening
Understand the proposed treatment, what it feels like and the alternatives. Your comfort and consent remain part of the conversation.
Know what to do next
Discuss hands-on care, exercises and activity changes that fit your needs. Treatment should connect to your walking, work, training or sport.
Shockwave is not suitable for every injury. Benefits vary by condition and person; your clinician will discuss the evidence, risks and alternatives before treatment.
Your first consultation
Leave the guessing behind.
Bring your questions, any relevant reports and a clear idea of the activities pain is getting in the way of. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis.

Care close to home
Three clinics. One simple next step.
Straight answers before you book.
What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy, also called ESWT, uses a handheld applicator to deliver acoustic pulses through the skin to the treatment area. It is a non-invasive option for selected persistent tendon and heel-pain conditions.
Will I receive treatment at my first appointment?
Your clinician assesses the problem, explains the options and discusses treatment with you. Shockwave is included in your plan only when suitable and with your consent. If you are booking specifically for treatment on the first visit, ask reception to confirm the appointment inclusions before booking.
Does shockwave hurt, and are there side effects?
The pulses can be uncomfortable; tell your clinician so treatment can be adjusted. Temporary soreness, redness, bruising or swelling can occur. Your clinician will explain relevant risks before you decide.
How many appointments will I need?
There is no single number that suits everyone. Your clinician will explain the recommended course, review your response and discuss any changes. Results vary, and improvement is not guaranteed.
Can I keep exercising?
Ask for advice about your usual activities. Strenuous, painful or high-impact exercise may need to be reduced for around 48 hours after treatment; your clinician will explain what this means for you.
How much does it cost?
Call 03 9481 7794 to confirm the fee, appointment length and any applicable rebate for your chosen booking. Follow-up recommendations and costs can be discussed before you commit to further appointments.
Is shockwave suitable for everyone?
No. Tell your clinician about your medical history, medicines, pregnancy, recent injections and surgery. They will check suitability and explain alternatives where needed.
What should I book?
Choose Shockwave Therapy Consult in online booking, then select your clinic, practitioner and appointment time. If you want help choosing between this and Premier’s broader Tendon Clinic pathway, call reception.
Your next step
Less organising your life around pain.
More working towards what you want back.
Tell us what you want to do more comfortably. We will help you understand the treatment options and the next step.
