Can I use TAC funding for
physiotherapy or osteopathy?
TAC may help pay for physiotherapy or osteopathy when the treatment is required because of injuries from a transport accident. You will need a TAC claim number, and the treatment must relate to your accident injuries. The approval requirements can change depending on how long it has been since the accident or your last TAC-funded treatment.
Within the first 90 days after an accident, TAC states that prior approval may not be required when you have a claim number, treatment has been recommended by a doctor or another health professional, and it is for your accident injuries. For treatment beyond 90 days after your accident, TAC approval is required before funded care continues. Approval is also required if it has been more than six months since your last TAC-funded treatment.

Do I need a TAC claim number before I book?
You should have a TAC claim number before asking TAC to pay for treatment. Have the claim number ready when you contact Premier so our team can record the correct billing information and help check what else is required.
Do I need a GP referral for TAC physiotherapy or osteopathy?
A formal GP referral is not usually required simply to book. However, TAC states that treatment provided without prior approval in the first 90 days should be recommended by a doctor or another health professional, relate to your accident injuries and be supported by a TAC claim number.
Will I have to pay a gap fee?
There is no patient gap for eligible TAC-funded physiotherapy and osteopathy consultations with any Premier physiotherapist or osteopath. Care or fees not covered by TAC may be payable privately. Contact reception before your appointment if you are unsure about funding.
Does Premier bill TAC directly?
Yes. Premier bills TAC directly for eligible physiotherapy and osteopathy consultations with all our physiotherapists and osteopaths. Provide your claim number and any required treatment approval details before the appointment. You do not need to pay upfront for an eligible, direct-billed consultation.
What happens after the first 90 days?

Can I transfer from another physiotherapist or osteopath?
You can ask to change providers. Tell Premier about treatment already received, your current practitioner and any approval. Relevant clinical information may be needed for safe continuity.
Can TAC pay for physiotherapy and osteopathy at the same time?
TAC does not usually pay for concurrent physiotherapy and osteopathy for the same injury during the same period. Exceptional circumstances require clinically justified, clearly different and coordinated services.
What if I do not know whether TAC has approved my treatment?
Call Premier before booking. We can identify the information our clinic needs, but TAC makes the final decision about claim eligibility and funding approval.
What can my first appointment include?
